Gold Work Williams Leaves Workshop - Wednesday 9th October 2024

Suitable for beginners and based on a carpet design from a William Morris Collection, create a beautiful colourful applique and hand embroidery piece. 

You will learn how to applique sheer fabric with netting to change the colours of your 
leaves. You will also learn some embroidery stitches including blanket, split and stem stitches, couching and battlement couching, alongside gold metal embroidery.

The kit is included in the price, so just turn up on the day.

Oakwood Embroidery is a new home run business and online shop run by textile artist Wendy Mansfield. We are happy to announce our garden studio is now open for workshops throughout the year. 

Workshops will start at 10.30am to 4pm, and the studio will be open at 10am for you to arrive and settle in. 6-8 places are available for each day, with driveway/street parking available. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, but remember to bring your lunch.

Terms and Conditions

We ask that you read the following terms and conditions carefully. By placing your booking on one of our workshops, we assume you have read, and agreed to these as set out below. 

Booking: We ask that bookings are generally made 24 hours in advance to the class date. This is so we can ensure all kits and materials are ready for you when you arrive, and so that we can plan for and accommodate all students. Only adults above the age of 18 can book and attend workshops. 

Cancellations: We understand that sometimes situations change and cancellations may be needed. This usually isn't a problem and we ask that you contact us as soon as possible if you would like to cancel or a change a booking. We'll do our best to help! We ask that you give us 3 days notice before the date of the class for any changes or cancellations. Please note an administration fee of £5 will be deducted from your refund to cover card processing fees.

Cancellations by Wendy: In the unlikely case that Wendy has to cancel a class due to an emergency, illness or event outside our control, we will contact you as soon as possible to inform you of this. Fees paid can be transferred to a future class if desired or a full refund can be provided. Please note we will not be held liable for any other costs incurred, outside of the class fee.

Health and Safety: We will take all precautions to ensure the health and safety of all visitors and workshop attendees, and ask that you adhere to any health and safety rules or advice we provide to you on the day. We ask that you remain respectful, and are aware of other students and their health and safety while in the studio.

We cannot be held liable for any injury, illness, loss or damage to you or your personal possessions whilst attending a workshop at our premises. Car parking is generally limited to 4 cars when parked on the driveway, and these are left at the owners risk. Additional parking is available on residential roads nearby, a short walk from the studio.
